Saturday Morning, One Sweep
Saturday Morning, One Sweep
My lower back used to ache by 8 a.m. Every Saturday, same story: bent over a short broom, chasing my dog’s fluffy tumbleweeds across the kitchen tile. My family home cleaning routine felt like a punishment.
Then my husband brought home a taller broom. No lecture, just set it in the corner.
The next morning, I swept standing straight. No crouching, no grumbling. A quick slide through the self-cleaning teeth dumped a week’s worth of hair and crumbs straight into the dustpan. No touching anything gross.
Now our small-space cleaning takes five minutes. The set clips together and stands behind the pantry door—no leaning pile, no clutter.
Some weekends, the win is quiet. A clean floor, a straight back, and coffee that’s still hot. That’s my kind of everyday cleaning habit. (Tidy Monster just happens to make the tool that finally fits our life.)
